Anya - lv 10 Poochyena ♀
Personality:
The typical loner type, Marcus isn't popular by any means. Prone to sarcasm and rude comments, Marcus hides a heart of gold. Under his rough exterior sits a young man desperate to feel part of a group.
It can easily be said that Marcus is a show of, the thrill of the spotlight helps fill the void. While he won't stop to soak up the praise or compliments, he will remember them fondly.
Perhaps loyal to a fault, once Marcus has 'claimed' you as a friend he will go to the end of the earth keep you safe. However, it's hard to earn his trust and no one has actually been successful and few have come close.
Prone to bought of quiet, Marcus isn't one to make too much noise and has always favored the quiet life back home. However, he didn't expect the quiet of Querencia to be so eerie. He actually misses the distant buzz of cars.
A little more put out now that he is in Querencia, Marcus feels almost compelled to get out of his comfort zone. Anything to make it better here.
Description:
For the vast majority of his life Marcus has been the small one. Standing barely 5'8, it wasn't until around his eighteenth birthday that he grew an extra five inches to be closer to 6'1. In the span of a year he thinned out to be a scrawny 175 soaking wet. He tends to be slender but he does fluctuate depending on his activity level. When he is busy he tends to slow down less resulting in more cut and define features, when he has time to be relaxed he fills out a bit, but never overly plump.
Like the rest of him, Marcus' hair grew to be a black shoulder length mop. Bangs an almost constant nuisance as they often cover his deep-hued violet eyes. When he is really frustrated by his hair he'll throw it up into a bun until he gets tired of it and lets his hair flow free. He is rarely without a few hair-ties on both wrists.
Unlike the majority of Querencia natives, Marcus clothing style is more closely related to Hoenn natives. He favors darker colored jeans and t-shirts. A jacket and hat to complete the look. He does prefer black boots over anything else, forever grateful considering how much mud there is, not used yet to the lack of asphalt paved roads.
History:
Born to isabella and Andrew Drake, he came into the world oddly quiet. Worrying his mother who thought the worse. It wasn't until the doctor gave his bottom a firm pat that he started to cry. Relief overcame his parents.
His parent's only child, Marcus never had a want in the world. Until his little sister was born. Lucy Drake came into the world screaming her head off just after Marcus turned ten. From the start she required all of her parent's attention. Not that Marcus minded much. He enjoyed being an older brother, eager to help out and keep Lucy happy by giving her all the attention. All seemed perfect until the accident.
Lucy had always insisted that she follow after Marcus on his adventures. He tried to convince his sister that she was too small, but nevertheless she persisted. Lucy followed him to the Rusturf Tunnel and it was there Marcus shouted at his sister. Annoyed with her constant jabbering when he wanted to simply explore. He yelled at her to leave him alone and Lucy did just that. Taking off and getting lost in the Rusturf cave. Two hours later and with a broken leg, she was finally found. The relationship between the sibling never the same.
His parents forbid him to go on adventures which only crushed Marcus' spirit. Confined now to his parent's home unless an adult was with him. Marcus felt stifled. Like most teens, Marcus thought first with his heart. He'd run away from home and go on adventures. Never leaving a note and often being brought back by the police. His parent's quickly becoming the talk of the town.
He started to hang out with a crowd of similar aged boys. While he didn't like them per say, they showed him new area to explore and often provided him an excuse. His parents never questioning where he was if he told them he was with friends. Unlike his friends Marcus didn't bother exploring the city or nearby towns. Always insisting they venture out further. His friendship with them didn't end well.
One night just after turning twenty, his group of friends convinced him to check out an old house. Marcus had grown very skilled at scaling most surfaces and could easily climb to the top window. His 'friends' lied and said the house was abandoned and the only way in was if someone opened the door from the inside. Naive and too trusting of his friends, Marcus climbed into the house.
He was arrest that night for breaking and entering. His parents had enough. They had heard of Querencia and thought it would give their son a second chance. Without discussing with him first they packed his bag and sent him off. Giving him a poochyena as a companion. Anya being the pup of his parents pokemon.
Realizing this was a chance to start over, Marcus grumbled his agreement and boarded the boat. Turning his back on his life in Hoenn without so much as a second glance.
