I'm searching for
something
that I can't reach
My ghost
Name: Amaya Vega Parsen
Age: 23 years old [Spring 3rd]
Gender: Female
Sexuality: Pansexual
Pronouns: She/Her
Character Class: Ranger
Face Claim: Edelgard, FE: Three Houses
Hometown: Unknown, Sinnoh Wilds
Pokemon: Aquilo, lv 20 male Rufflet
Personality:
Confident, loud and easily excited. Amaya remains a near-constant ball of energy. Prone to strong emotions, Amaya is often considered a 'warm personality'. An extrovert with a love of close contact, she is often considered too much. It takes a cool almost cold personality to balance her out. She is aware of her intensity and it continues to remain a constant struggle. She reminds herself to calm down, mumbling the phrase 'chill out Amaya' to herself when she catches she is going a mile a minute. Slowed down when she is eating or hungry, Amaya isn't surprised when people tell her to 'cool it'. She is very grateful when people stop her and remind her to relax. The longer she has known someone the easier it is for her to gauge herself. Her preferred lifestyle, the traveler, requires her to get out information quickly. A habit that is hard to turn off when not in traveling or survival situations.
She does have the occasional off day. Usually apparent when she stays still for long periods or isn't her usual bubbly self. This is usually remedied by going on an extra difficult hike or a long swim, something that puts her body into motion. Requiring her to focus on her physical state and not her mental state. Allowing her to break dark cloud over her head.
Appearance:
Her most striking feature is her long pale-almost-white blonde hair. Much like her mother, Amaya wears her hair half pulled back. The pulled back portion in a neat braid. Her near purple yes, a gift from her father, compliment her fair complexion. Careful with sun protection, Amaya's skin remains blemish-free aside from various scars. Rarely with the right amount of sun, her skin will blossom with freckles. However, the amount of sun needed for that is rarely a gamble Amaya will take. Preferring to keep her skin well protected.
Furthermore, Amaya maintains a fairly practical style of dress. Everything must have pockets, because of his rule she often shops in the 'mens' section to ensure her items are useful. Due to her active lifestyle, Amaya is well-built. Standing just above 5'7 and weighing a little under 150 pounds, Amaya remains well proportioned.
Healthy because of her activity, Amaya, unfortunately, has a similar medical condition to her mother. If requires monthly check-ups at the clinic and a diet rich in iron to avoid fainting spells. She manages and refuses to give up her adventuring ways of life.
History:
Amaya joined the world in perhaps the most unconventional way. Born in the wilds of Sinnoh Region she was delivered without any doctors nearby. Her parents relied on their strength as researchers and survivalist to have a successful birth. Amaya hadn't seen another child her age until she was five years old. Her parents had always been deeply devoted to their work having both worked under Professor Rowan. Amaya's first few years of life were spent 'helping' her parents. It was simple tasks for a young child but to her, it meant the world.
Just after turning five, her mother had gotten ill beyond what her father could take care of. The family moved away from fieldwork and into the sleepy town of Sandgem. Her mother recovered gradually but never enough to go back on fieldwork. It was decided that the family would remain in Sandgem. Amaya's father the only one to leave for fieldwork mission but the promise he'd never be gone for more than six months at a time. Her mother's sickness made it impossible for Amaya to have any siblings, not that she minded.
Confident and eager to explore the world. Amaya made quick friends almost everywhere she went. Her parents, the wandering type as well, allowed her to take short trips into the wilds with their pokemon. From a young age, Amaya relied on pokemon for comfort and safety. Some kids mocked her for her 'wild' approach to life, willing to shed her shoes and trample through the brush on an adventure. At first, it hurt her feelings. They had called her a freak. Relying on her parents for support, Amaya slowly became strong enough to stand up to her bullies. It usually ended with her throwing a punch in which she'd be sent home early from playing with the other kids. Her parents encouraged her to use her words but also didn't punish her. Gradually Amaya learned to control her temper long enough to make friends with the kinder children. She became the first to defend and the last to back out of a fight.
As life went on Amaya ventured further and further away from home. At seventeen she started to go with her father on his fieldwork missions. By the time she turned twenty years old, she had traveled nearly all of Sinnoh and Unova Region. She also had fallen madly in love with the most wonderful girl.
Skylar, an Unova native with a knack for the ocean and water type pokemon. The two of them talked, planned and dreamed of seeing the entire world. Amaya had her parent's blessing and a decent sum of money. Wanting to surprise Skylar, Amaya purchased a sizeable boat. She waited all day for Skylar to visit, she ended up waiting well into the night before she went looking for Skylar.
Excited for the prospect of sharing such an adventurous future, Amaya entered Skylar's house without knocking to find the love of her life tangled up with someone else. Heartbroken, Amaya ran from the house and kept running. She ran until her legs gave out. She stumbled one too many times before falling into a heap of sobs. Amaya stayed there until the early hours. Forced awake by the aggressive poking of a young Rufflet, Amaya opened her eyes. The pokemon paused, tilting his head sideways before resuming the poking. Shooing him away Amaya got up, but the pokemon persisted. Puzzled by the brave little bird, she offered for him to go with her as she made it back home. He kept up, flying just a few feet ahead, careful not to get lost.
She called her mom when she got home, cried a little more. All the while the Rufflet perched on her kitchen chair, preening his feathers with childish delight. Her parents were the ones to suggest she go to Querencia, explore the area and just forget about Skylar to the best of her ability. It took very little convincing but a little bit of work.
The time it took to sell her boat, end her lease and gather supplies took nearly a year. The rufflet having been formally captured and named Aquilo a constant companion. As she ventures to Querencia, she is looking forward to exploring the wilds above all else.
