SKYLAR VALE PLAYED BY SG // SINoALICE, CINDERELLA I am the sea, and nobody owns me. | |
🎂 AGE / Birthday 22 [FALL 1] 🧠 GENDER / Pronouns Demigirl [She/They] ❤️ OrIENTATION Pan 🏃♀️ Occupation --- 💼 CLASS RANGER 🏡 HOMETOWN ACCUMULA, UNOVA POKEMON LV20 F VAPOREON | APPEARANCE Standing at 5'1" with a slender frame, Skylar is on the small side. She is moderately curvy and has a fair amount of bust for a girl her size, and she has a naturally tan complexion that gets darker in the summer. Her long hair, mostly straight with a bit of wave to it the longer it gets, reaches to a little past her butt when left down, although she usually pulls it into a high ponytail that makes it appear just a little shorter. Her hair is a dusty pink color that can appear closer to light brown or bright pink depending on the lighting. Her eyes are a cool purple color that can look a little closer to blue in some lighting. Her features are mostly soft and cute, from her plush lips to her button nose. She has very few small scars, generally unnoticeable to most people. She has some flowers tattooed up the side of one hip/flank. Her ears are pierced once in each lobe, but she rarely wears earrings anymore or small simple studs when she does. PERSONALITY To take a look at Skylar, one would see a person who is calm, cool, and collected, someone who really has their act together. She has recently graduated university and often gives off a generally scholarly vibe. She is filled with knowledge she is eager to share with others, especially about Water-type Pokemon and ocean ecology, and can often be found reading in her spare time. Truth be told, however, Skylar is a very fine actress. Though cool on the surface, she is highly passionate about a number of different things and just in general. She can also be very anxious, and has to maintain her calm facade to help trick even herself into believing she has her shit together. Sometimes, the facade can slip when she's worked up enough, be it in a positive or negative way. In these times, she can come off as a panicky mess, or as a little bit arrogant, or just kind of a handful. But few people ever see her like this. Deep down, Skylar is filled with wanderlust, and though she strives to always look content with her life, the truth is she almost never is. She's always seeking more, to see more, experience more. Whether it's with work, Pokemon, or even people, it's difficult to tie this free spirit down for long. HISTORY Skylar was born and raised in Accumula Town, Unova. It was a fairly sleepy place, but with just enough hustle and bustle to keep things from being too boring. Still, nothing in her childhood would be considered particularly "exciting" either... at least, not until Skylar was 13. That was the year Team Plasma started to sweep through Unova. Her parents were completely caught up in the idealism they preached, and released all their Pokemon. Skylar, who didn't have any of her own but had loved all her parents' Pokemon like family pets, was heartbroken. For months she lived in fear that this was the way of the future, and she'd never get to own a Pokemon, that she'd grow up in a world where humans and Pokemon lived separately. But thankfully, a Hero eventually rose up and stopped Team Plasma, revealing them for the criminals they truly were. When she heard, Skylar vowed she'd never part with her Pokemon once she got one. Her parents were understandably very upset when they realized they'd been tricked into parting with their own partners for such nefarious reasons, and tried hunting down their old friends, but were only able to find three of them. It was better than nothing, but still upsetting. In order to apologize to Skylar, who'd been vocally against it all along, they offered to get her her first Pokemon, any species she wanted if they could find it and afford it. At 14, she chose an Eevee, who she quickly evolved into a Vaporeon. There was just one thing she hadn't counted on: having a Pokemon was a lot more work than she realized! Where once she dreamed of having a team of six or even more, Skylar was struggling to keep up with the high energy that Rain brought. Of course she'd never give Rain up, but it did make her very hesitant to add any Pokemon to her roster for a long time, not until she was certain she could care for them. Going through school and such was pretty standard. Skylar dated a bit, and even had a pretty serious boyfriend going into college. For said college, she moved to Castelia City. There, she studied marine biology and general oceanography. At some point during her college career, she'd meet a wonderful girl named Amaya, and the two quickly hit it off. Amaya had been all over Sinnoh and Unova, and Skylar was positively fascinated hearing about her adventures. It awakened her inner wanderlust, and she may have gotten a little carried away talking about dreams of traveling the world. There were just two little problems. For one, she was still in school, and she never did make it clear that she planned to graduate before anything else. But the bigger problem: she still had her boyfriend. She'd always intended to talk to him and Amaya about each other eventually. With the boy, there had always been a sort of agreement that they weren't exclusive, but she hadn't been sure if he'd still feel the same way when it was real vs just an idea of her with someone else. And Amaya, well... Things just happened so fast, and then she was afraid that since she hadn't told her before they got together that she'd be mad. She didn't want to lose either of them, and in the moment it seemed like the easiest way to deal with the problem was just to make sure they didn't know about each other to be able to worry. Unfortunately, Amaya had gotten it into her head that things were more immediately serious than Skylar saw them, thinking if she bought a boat the two could just run away together right then and there. Unfortunately, that same day, her boyfriend came over to surprise her, so Skylar never did go to visit Amaya. Skylar hoped Amaya would just assume she was busy with school, but that night Amaya walked into her house without knocking, walking in on her and the boy. Amaya was devastated and ran away, and worse, her boyfriend got upset asking who that girl was. She wound up losing them both in the same night. Newly single, Skylar fell into a depression for some time, hyper focusing on her school work but withdrawing from any semblance of social life. When she finally graduated, about a year later, she began thinking again about the dreams she and Amaya had shared to travel the world. She still wanted to, but wasn't sure where to start anymore. It didn't seem as fun alone, even with Rain still by her side. A Pokemon was good, but she longed for conversation. Fortunately, she'd eventually run into an old mutual friend of hers and Amaya's. The friend was wary at first, having heard about the cheating incident, but after Skylar explained they did feel a little bit sorry for her, and eventually relented the information that Amaya had moved to Querencia to become a Ranger. A Ranger...? That seemed like a perfect way to put her love for the environment to good use! And a region they'd never heard of prior except maybe in passing sounded like an exciting first stop in her plan to explore the world. Gathering her things and making arrangements, she soon set out. |
